Terms of Service

Fade is an ephemeral social platform where all content is temporary. Posts expire in 24 hours and are permanently deleted from our servers. There are no archives, no algorithmic feeds, and no AI processing of your content. Fade is designed for authentic, in-the-moment expression.

• You must be at least 13 years old to use Fade.
• You need a valid email address to create an account.
• You must verify your email before accessing the platform.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials.
• One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to evade bans or manipulate the platform is prohibited.

• You retain ownership of the content you post. By posting, you grant Fade a temporary, non-exclusive license to display your content to other users until it expires.
• Once content expires, it is permanently and irreversibly removed from our servers. We do not keep copies, backups, or caches of expired content.
• You are solely responsible for the content you post, including text, images, comments, and messages.
• By uploading images, you confirm that you have the right to share them and that they do not violate any third-party rights.

Fade is a space for genuine expression. To keep it safe, you agree not to use Fade to:

• Harass, bully, intimidate, or threaten other users
• Post hate speech, discriminatory content, or content promoting violence
• Share illegal content, sexually explicit content involving minors, or non-consensual intimate imagery
• Spam, engage in commercial solicitation, or promote scams
• Impersonate other individuals or organizations
• Attempt to circumvent content expiration, moderation, or security measures
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the platform

Content that receives a sufficient number of reports from the community will be automatically reviewed and may be hidden. Severe or repeated violations will result in account suspension or permanent termination.

Fade has a strict zero-tolerance policy toward Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE). Any content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors — including grooming, solicitation, or sharing of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate and permanent account termination.

We report all confirmed CSAE violations to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and cooperate fully with law enforcement.

Fade assigns each user a random display ID. You do not use your real name on the platform. This is a feature of the service, not a shield from accountability — all community guidelines still apply regardless of your display ID. You may change your display ID once every 30 days.

The Fade name, logo, and all associated branding are the property of Fade. You may not use our trademarks without prior written permission. The app's source code, design, and underlying technology are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

We strive to keep Fade available and running smoothly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. The service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control. The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page. Upon deletion, your email and all associated data will be removed from our systems.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without prior notice. In cases of severe violations, termination may be immediate and permanent.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fade and its operators shall not be liable for:

• Any content posted by users of the platform
• Data loss due to content expiration (this is a core feature of the service)
• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app
• Any loss of data, profits, or goodwill

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Fade and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service or your violation of these terms.

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Fade shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if necessary, through binding arbitration.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app. Your continued use of Fade after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
